Gratitude: Be Thankful – Summer 2015

In the Old Testament we read about offerings of thanksgiving that were laid on the altar as incense was offered to the Lord. The people went to a physical Temple and laid their offerings on a physical altar. Today the altar of thanksgiv- ing is located in our hearts and we are God’s Temple where His Holy Spirit dwells but sometimes it helps us to have a physical, tangible reminder of that fact. This morning we will have the opportunity to actually lay our offerings of thanksgiving and gratitude on a physical altar to remind us of our blessings – especially when it comes to our families and the family of God.
