Home Churches are meeting people’s needs today in fellowship, outreach, involvement and a host of other values have surfaced from this ministry. Perhaps the most significant discovery is in the area of spiritual development. Home Churches are proving to be the best method for stimulating growth and commitment among God’s people. Home Churches provide an avenue to meet the single, greatest felt need in America — community. Study after study reveals the resulting hurt and void in the lives of mobile Americans. People are recognizing a need for experiencing family, belonging, acceptance, and community. Home Churches are proving to be the best ministry tool to regain these divine blessings.
Here at Lakewood we’re actually copying the early day Church. There are many scriptures that refer to the early teachings in homes. In Acts 20:20: You know that I have not hesitated to preach anything that would be helpful to you but have taught you publicly and from house to house; Roman 16:5; Greet also the church that meets at their house.
